This will be an all-abilities level ride exploring the sage country around Gunnison. We'll hear how local mountain bikers have shaped the GPLI proposal for the protection of public lands in Gunnison County and what the proposal would do to protect biking. The proposed Signal Peak Special Management Area has long provided close to town recreational opportunities for Valley residents, and will soon see the addition of 20+ miles of single track trails while enhancing the wildlife protections for wintering big game species and the Gunnison Sage-grouse. Come to explore this incredible resource and see what’s in store for future trail development.
We will meet at 3:00 at the Western State Signal Peak campus trailhead. We plan to be out for three hours, so please come prepared with bike gear, water, snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent and anything else you need. Plan to stay after and join us for a grill out!
