Join the Gunnison Public Lands Initiative and Crested Butte Wildflower Festival for a guided hike up the moderate Beckwith Pass on August 7th. We will meet at the Crested Butte Wildflower Office (409 2nd Street, Crested Butte) at 8 am.
As we are partnering with the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival for this hike, the cost is $75. All proceeds will go to the Festival.
The Beckwith Pass trail traverses a section of land that the Gunnison Public Lands Initiative has proposed to permanently protect for water, wildlife, and recreation. This hike with the Gunnison Public Lands Initiative will talk about what we can do as citizens to speak up for our incredible natural heritage.
Though relatively flat hiking, the Beckwith Pass Trail offers one of the most spectacular vantage points for the many of the iconic peaks along Kebler Pass. Please plan to be out for 7.5 hours and prepared with water, lunch, snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent and any other materials you will need to enjoy a full day hiking.
The trail starts at 9,508 feet above sea level and ascends 398 feet to top out at 9,779 feet. The trail descends 253 feet making and the total hike 6 miles round trip.
