Bike Teocalli Ridge with CBMBA and Gunnison Trails

  • 4 Way Stop Elk Ave & 6th St Crested Butte, CO, 81224 United States (map)

Join John Chandler from the Crested Butte Mountain Association (CBMA) and Dave Wiens from Gunnison Trails on a free, guided mountain bike ride on the Teocalli Ridge Trail on August 1st.

This is a challenging, but fun bike ride with incredible views -- that's part of our Double Top/Cement Creek proposal area. We'll hear how local mountain bikers have shaped GPLI's proposal for the protection of public lands in Gunnison County and what the proposal would do to protect biking. The trail starts at 9,476 feet and begins with a steep 2,184' ascent up the base of Teocalli Mountain. The trail is 11.5 miles round trip and is an advanced ride. You can find more information on the CBMBA or The MTB Project website web page.

We plan on being out until early afternoon, so please come prepared with bike gear, water, lunch, sunscreen, insect repellant and anything else you need. We will meet at the 4-way stop in Crested Butte at 9:00 am to carpool to the trailhead.  Expert riders are welcome to ride to the trailhead, meeting other riders along the trail.

Please fill out the form below to register. For questions or more information, contact Hilary Henry at hilary@gunnisonpubliclands.com or (970) 390-6689.
