Bike the Carbon Trail with Gunnison Trails

The Carbon Trail is back!

Maybe you had fun with us on this challenging ride last year or maybe you missed it -- but in either case make sure to come out and join Dave Wiens of Gunnison Trails  on the free, guided ride this year! The ride will follow the Carbon Trail through the valley between Whetstone, Carbon, and Axtell -- in the Whetstone proposal area. Come along to hear how mountain bikers have worked to shape the GPLI proposal and how GPLI plans to protect recreation in Gunnison County!

This strenuous, advanced ride is about 25 miles round trip. More information about the trail can be found here. This is a perfect opportunity to learn more about this little known trail. There will be options to turn around before the most difficult sections and to carpool to the trailhead, cutting off a few miles of road riding.

We will meet at the 4-Way Stop in Crested Butte at 9:00 am. Bring everything you need for a full day of biking — food, water, sunscreen, and your bike gear.

For more information please contact Hilary Henry at hilary@gunnisonpubliclands.com. Ride size is limited, so make sure to register!
