Join the Gunnison-Crested Butte Fat Bikers and the Gunnison Public Lands Initiative on a free fat bike ride to Splain’s Gulch and Lily Lakes.
Meet at 8 am on Sunday, February 22 at the Kebler Trailhead. The ride is intermediate in difficulty, with moderate uphill terrain. Plan to ride for about 2.5 hours.
Big Al's and CB Fat Bike Rentals are giving us a sweet deal on rentals for our ride. You can get a bike from either of them for $15, normally $35! Swing by Big Al's or call Sean at CB Fat Bikes (970-596-6692) to rent. Make sure to tell them thanks for supporting GPLI!
You should prepare for the fat bike ride just like you would for a backcountry ski day -- plenty of snacks, water, sunscreen, and lots of layers so that you can stay cool on the uphills and keep warm at the top.
This is a great opportunity to get out into a beautiful area, try out a new sport, and learn more about the incredible lands GPLI is working to protect!

- If planning on renting a bike, please make sure to pick up your rental today! We will be leaving too early tomorrow morning for you to get a bike.
- With a storm rolling in, there's a chance that there will be too much snow tomorrow morning to ride. If that's the case, we'll send you an email and update our Facebook page. So, if you wake up to fat flakes, make sure to check your inbox to make sure the ride hasn't been called. If you don't hear anything - assume the ride is on!
- 8 am sound early? First Ascent and Mountain Oven have generously donated bagels and coffee for our riders tomorrow! We'll have it for you at the trailhead.
