Mountain Biking on the Carbon Trail

  • Carbon Trail 5277 Co Rd 737 Gunnison, CO, 81230 United States (map)

CBMBA's current and proposed trails in the Whetstone area. Look for the Carbon Trail running right through the middle.

Join Dave Wiens of Gunnison Trails and Dave Ochs of CBMBA on a free guided mountain bike ride in the valley between Carbon, Whetstone, and Axtell mountains on Monday, July 28. The ride will follow the Carbon Trail through an area the Gunnison Public Lands Initiative has proposed for protection.

This strenuous, advanced ride is about 25 miles round trip. There will be options to turn around before the most difficult sections and to carpool to the trailhead, cutting off a few miles of road riding.

We will meet at the 4-Way Stop in Crested Butte at 9:00 am. Bring everything you need for a full day of biking — food, water, sunscreen, and your bike gear.

For questions or more information please contact Hilary Henry at hilary@gunnisonpubliclands.com. Ride size is limited, so make sure to register!
